March 5-8 - Madrid

My hotel was on the Gran Via, one of Madrid 's major streets. The first evening I went out for wonderful
tapas. I'll probably do the same the
next two nights.
On Sunday I walked for miles, seeing sections of Madrid I've never seen
before. Then all of a sudden I
recognized some Egyptian ruins I'd seen on a previous trip. I actually found it on an old blog entry.

It was so tempting to buy Spanish
clothing. Most were for the winter so I
succeeded in not buying anything other then a T-shirt.
My final night I had amazing paella at La Barraca, a well
known and popular restaurant. I had to
get there when they opened to get paella for one.
