Transatlantic Cruise April 2017

Transatlantic Cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Monte Carlo - March 27 - April 13, 2017

It is always fun taking a transatlantic cruise.  There is so much free time and after taking the cruise many time, I know a lot fellow travelers.

March 30, 2017 - Hamilton, Bermuda

This was my second visit to Bermuda, so I spent my time walking through the town, finding new and exciting sights to photograph.  Well, maybe not that exciting.

March 31 - April 5, 2017 - At Sea

This was one of the roughest crossings I've experienced.  The ship was rolling in up to 30 foot waves.  Glasses were crashing in the dining room.  Objects were falling off the shelves in my cabin.  Finally after three rough days, the seas calmed.

April 6, 2017 - Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

This is one of my favorite ports of call on the crossing.   Funchal is beatiful island city.  This time I took the cable car to the top of the mountain for an amazing view.

Look at the two ships.  The baby one on the right is the Silver Wind, my ship.

Here I am at the top of the mountain.

Don't ask what this is.

April 8, 2017 - Cadiz, Spain

I managed to get very lost during my walk, but eventually I found the main square.

April 9, 2017 - Gibraltar, GB

I guess the British refuse to give up any territory.  Look what we had to do for our independence.

The Gibraltar monkeys are making their way into the city.  (Julie - these monkeys love dogs)

The famous Rock from the port

April 10, 2017 - Cartagena, Spain

Last year I was in Cartagena, Colombia.  I always manage to make it to the top of the mountain to see the amazing Roman Theatre.

April 11, 2017 - Porto Mahon, Manorca, Spain

Finally a new city.  The city was beautiful, but sailing out was spectacular.  It took almost an hour to reach the sea.

A new painting?

April 12, 2017 - Marseilles, France

Today we had a magnificent lunch of mussels at a local cafe.
